Precise radiation delivery to very small tumors
Trilogy is a Linear Accelerator (LINAC) that comprises three different radiotherapy methods; namely, IGRT, IMRT and SRT/SRC. Trilogy is used for both diagnosis and treatment purposes, and provides significant advantages to the patient.
IGRT allows image guided radiation therapy. IMRT allows intensity-modulated radiotherapy. Thus, the intensity of radiation in areas being treated can be adjusted to achieve an almost ideal dose distribution. While tumors are delivered highly concentrated doses of radiation, the surrounding healthy tissues are protected to a maximum extent. SRT/SRC technology allows point-by-point radiation. Using this technology, it is possible to better focus radiation on very small tumors of a few millimeters. Thus, while the tumor is delivered high doses of radiation, the surrounding healthy tissues are protected.
